Privacy, plainly.
- No account. You never give us your email, phone number or name.
- Your photos and voice recordings stay on your iPhone or iPad.
- AI drawing sends only the part of a photo you pick, only after you say yes, and it is not stored.
- Never used to train AI, never sold. No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics.

Who we are
Pictly (“the app”) is made by Seven Generations Labs LLC (“7gens”, “we”, “us”), 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes and the choices you have. Questions: support@7gens.me.
On your device
Your library stays in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad: cards (name, the phrase the card says, category), boards, the photos you take, card pictures, voice recordings and your settings. Photos, pictures and recordings are stored with iOS complete file protection and are not included in iCloud backups. We cannot see any of it. Talk mode, printing and sharing a set as a file all work without our servers.
An anonymous ID
To keep track of AI drawing credits and purchases, the app creates an anonymous account with Google Identity Platform the first time it needs our servers. It is a random ID with no email, name or phone number. A sign-in token is kept in your device's Keychain and does not sync to other devices.
AI drawing
AI drawing is optional and is the only time a photo leaves your device. Before the first drawing, the app asks for your permission. Then:
- the app sends only the part of the photo you selected (for a card that combines several things, the photo of each of them and the words you typed about how they go together), with the card's language;
- our server removes location and other hidden data (EXIF) from the photo in memory, then sends it to Google's Vertex AI (Gemini models) to suggest a name and phrase and to draw the card picture;
- the photo is never written to disk or storage and never logged. Google does not use it to train models;
- the finished drawings (not your photo) are kept on our server for up to 31 days, only so that a retry after a lost connection does not charge you twice. They are then deleted automatically.
You can always make cards from your photos without AI, and the original photo stays one tap away.
Sharing a set
When you share a set as a link, the app uploads the set: card names, phrases, categories, card pictures, any voice recordings you attached and, if you add them, your name and role (for example “Speech therapist”). Your original photos are never included. Anyone with the link can open the set for 30 days; links are long and random, so they cannot be guessed. After 30 days the set is deleted. Sharing a set as a file (AirDrop, Mail, Files) does not use our servers.
Purchases
Purchases are made and paid through Apple; we never see your payment details. To unlock Pictly Plus or add credits, the app sends us Apple's signed transaction, and Apple notifies our server about renewals, refunds and cancellations. We store the transaction ID, product, dates and status, linked to your anonymous ID.
What our servers keep
- your anonymous ID, plan and credit balance;
- purchase records as described above;
- short-lived counters that limit how often AI drawing can be used per hour, deleted automatically;
- drawing results (up to 31 days) and shared sets (30 days) as described above;
- technical logs (request path, status and timing) to keep the service running. Logs never contain photos, recordings or card content.
Our servers run on Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium, with the database replicated within the EU). Google processes this data for us as our service provider. We do not sell or share your information for advertising, and the app contains no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.
Children
Pictly is designed to be set up by parents, carers and professionals, who then hand the device to a child for Talk mode. Talk mode shows no ads or offers, works offline and sends nothing to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent decides whether to use AI drawing or share a set.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete All My Data removes every card, board, photo and recording from the device, and your account, credits, drawing results and shared links from our servers. We keep only an anonymised record of each purchase, so a purchase cannot be applied twice.
- Camera and microphone access can be turned off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to its processing. Because we have no name or email for you, the fastest way is the delete button above. You can also write to support@7gens.me, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
